International Journal of Economics and Finance
Editorial Independence
The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) and Editorial Board Members hold full responsibility and authority for editorial content and academic publishing decisions. The publisher do not influence editorial evaluations, peer-review outcomes, or publication decisions.
Editorial Decision-Making
Editorial decisions, including initial screening, peer review, revision requests, acceptance, and rejection, are based on established academic and ethical criteria, including:
- Alignment with the journal’s scope and objectives.
- Originality, significance, and contribution to the field.
- Methodological rigor and analytical validity.
- Quality and integrity of the data and research.
- Compliance with applicable research and publication ethics.
- Plagiarism, authorship, and other relevant integrity requirements.
Author identity, institutional affiliation, financial considerations, commercial interests, or personal relationships do not influence editorial decisions.
Editorial and Business Operations
Editorial decisions are kept separate from financial and commercial considerations.
- Article Processing Charges (APCs) or other publication fees do not influence peer review, editorial evaluation, or publication decisions.
- Editorial decisions are not based on an author’s ability or willingness to pay publication fees.
- Financial and administrative matters are handled separately from academic editorial decision-making wherever applicable.
Recusal and Conflicts of Interest
Editors and Editorial Board Members must disclose and appropriately manage any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.
- Submissions by Editors or Editorial Board Members: Manuscripts submitted by editors or board members are handled independently by another qualified editor. The submitting editor does not participate in the editorial decision or have access to confidential peer-review information concerning their manuscript.
- Professional or Personal Conflicts: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts involving close collaborators, current institutional colleagues, personal relationships, or other circumstances that could create a conflict of interest.
- No Preferential Treatment: Editors and Editorial Board Members are subject to the same editorial and peer-review standards as all other authors.
Special Issues
Special issues collections are subject to the same editorial, peer-review, ethical, and publication standards as regular submissions. Guest Editors may coordinate the editorial process within their assigned scope; however, final publication decisions remain subject to the journal’s established editorial procedures and the authority of the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) or designated independent editor.
Protection of Editorial Integrity
The journal is committed to maintaining a clear separation between academic editorial judgment and commercial or administrative interests. Any attempt to improperly influence editorial decisions should be reported to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) or Publisher and will be addressed in accordance with the journal’s applicable policies and publication ethics procedures.
